What is Pipe Bending?
Tube bending is any metal forming processes used to permanently form pipes or tubing. Tube bending may be form-bound or use freeform-bending procedures, and it may use heat supported or cold forming procedures
The main objective of a pipe bender is to bend the pipe without any buckling (collapsing under pressure), and with as little crimping and flattening as possible. It is important that the pipe keeps its shape as deformed pipes can break under pressure, crack and generally look less appealing.
There are generally four (4) different methods of tube/pipe bending that can also be classified according to complexity. You’ll encounter the following: compression bending, rotary draw bending, roll bending, and mandrel tube bending.
